This bill amends a number of existing acts such as the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004, the Electricity Act 1994, the Mineral Resources Act 1989 and the Timber Utilisation and Marketing Act 1987. Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, said that lawn bowl players will be able to play their favourite sport at the Pine Rivers Memorial Bowls Club all year round following the completion of nearly $3 million in upgrades to the facility.

Carolyn Male MP said Bligh Government funding of $1,417,530 has helped the club convert an existing lawn green to synthetic material with shade cover.

“The new green is going to save the club time and money in terms of upkeep,” Carolyn Male MP said.

“The synthetic grass doesn’t require any watering thereby ensuring optimum playing conditions and maintenance costs for synthetic surfaces are minimal in comparison to grass.”
