Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, is pleased to announce that Pine Rivers Community Assisted Transport Service (CATS) has received $76,721 additional funding under the Home and Community Care (HACC) program to enhance their provision of Regional Service Delivery Priorities.

Carolyn Male MP said the additional funding will significantly assist HACC service providers to deliver basic support and maintenance services to more Queenslanders and their carers.

“I know this funding is greatly welcomed by the Pine Rivers Community as it will go a great way to helping CATS to continue providing their services to people in genuine need of assistance,” Carolyn Male MP said.

“CATS, as a HACC provider is a volunteer based community organisation. They provide door to door transport service specifically for HACC eligible people who are unable to access other forms of public transport due to health and accessibility reasons.”

“The HACC program aims to assist people who need basic support services to continue to live in the community and without which they would have to move prematurely into a hostel, nursing home or similar.”

“Therefore this funding will not only support people to remain in their own homes but will also allow them to enjoy a better quality of life among family and friends,” Carolyn Male MP said.

The HACC Program is funded jointly by the Federal and Queensland Governments.
