Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, said that a Queensland Parliamentary Committee wants to hear your views on alcohol related violence in Queensland.
Carolyn Male MP said the Law, Justice and Safety Committee is conducting an inquiry into alcohol-related, violence in Queensland, with a focus on community safety and preventative measures to reduce levels of alcohol-related violence.
“The inquiry will help the Committee to understand why incidents of alcohol related violence occur in Queensland, and to provide practical and effective solutions,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“We know that this matter cannot be addressed overnight and we will be looking for long-term solutions to bring about a shift in cultural attitudes to alcohol consumption.”
“We need information from the public on how they are affected and on how this matter should be addressed. We want to hear from young people, emergency workers, health workers, police, industry bodies, advisory organisations - anyone who can provide the Committee with relevant information to ensure that our recommendations will be far reaching and effective in reversing this trend of alcohol related violence.”
The Committee welcomes any information relevant to the Committee’s terms of reference.
