Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, is pleased to announce that Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre has received $442,820 per annum over three years for a HomeStay Support Service.

Carolyn Male MP said that the HomeStay Support initiative allows the Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre to assist people who are at risk of homelessness to maintain their tenancies through the delivery of personal support before or after a period of homelessness.

“I know this funding is greatly welcomed by the Pine Rivers Community as it will go a great way to helping the Neighbourhood Centre to continue providing their services to people in genuine need of assistance,” Carolyn Male MP said.

“This funding is a lifeline to people who are in need of homelessness services.”

“In addition to the homelessness services, the Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre also provides counselling and family therapy services,” Carolyn Male MP said.

“It helps families experiencing stress or disruption due to physical or mental health issues, loneliness, isolation or a breakdown in family relationships.”

“The Bligh Government knows how much it’s valued by local residents, and this new funding is about making the centre an even better community asset.”
