Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, said that a new website has been launched to encourage people without a go card to give public transport a go as part of the Bligh Government’s go card giveaway which begins next week.
Carolyn Male MP said up to 400,000 go cards with $10 travel credit will be given away as part of a commitment to encourage more people to get on board public transport.
“From Tuesday June 22, those wanting to take advantage of the offer will be able to visit this dedicated website to find out details of how to apply for a free go card,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“The new website can be accessed from the TransLink website www.translink.com.au and people will be able to apply online for their go cards from Monday 28 June.”
“The website will contain information about go card giveaway events to be held throughout South East Queensland and further information regarding the go card giveaway promotion.”
“There will also be a link for new customers to identify which go card type is right for them, and a video presentation educating them on how to touch on and touch off using their new go card.”
“Public transport is an easy and convenient way to travel, having a go card makes using public transport quicker, smoother and easier.”
“So if you don’t already have a go card I’d encourage you to take advantage of this free offer and give public transport a go.”
“Applications for the free go cards will be available from June 28, in addition to the 30,000 cards allocated to the successful go ready sessions for seniors and pensioners.”
“The go card giveaway aims to make it easier for those who’ve not yet made the switch to do so.”
“If you don’t travel by public transport often but still want the convenience of having a go card in your wallet, this is a great opportunity to get one.”
