Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers and Mary-Anne O’Neill MP, State Member for Kallangur, would like to make Pine Rivers commuters aware that the Government has increased the number of retailers with go card services, in addition to using the telephone or going on-line in the area.
Carolyn Male MP said, “TransLink’s recent expansion of the retailer network continued this week with all manned train stations across South East Queensland now selling go card, including Bald Hills, Lawnton and Petrie stations.”
“Additional staff will also be on hand across the network during the peak periods to sell go cards and assist passengers.”
“This means since November last year, the number of outlets selling the go card in Pine Rivers has risen from 7 to 11 and will continue to rise throughout 2010.”
Mary-Anne O’Neill MP welcomed the additional outlets and encouraged local commuters to get a go card if they didn’t already have one.
“The future of public transport is paperless so now is the time to switch to go card by 2011,” Mary-Anne O’Neill said.
“Advantages of the go card include quicker boarding times, off peak discounts and frequent user discounts,” Mary-Anne O’Neill said.
“This is good news not only for the go card owner, but also for all commuters as services become faster and more frequent.”
A $20 pre-loaded go card can now be purchased from:
• Warner Newsagency - cnr Old North Road and Samsonvale Road, Warner
• Lawnton train station - Station Road, Lawnton
• Petrie train station - Station Road, Petrie
• Bald Hills train station - Cullimore Street, Bald Hills
All new retailers will sell the new $20 pre-loaded adult, senior and child go card. The card is a ready-to-go product, with the same top up facilities and functions as all go cards.
