A re-elected Bligh Government will ease the burden on every state school in Pine Rivers with an across-the-board $10,000 increase to their resource budgets, Labor Candidate for Pine Rivers Carolyn Male said.

The average annual grant for small primary schools will increase to $31,500, for medium size schools it will increase to $63,000 and large primary schools will receive $99,750 a year.

For secondary schools, the average annual grant for small high schools will increase to $56,500, for medium size schools it will increase to $98,500 and large primary schools will receive $151,000 a year.

“This is going to be a great boost for the school community with more funds available for classroom resources,” Carolyn Male said.

“As a former teacher I know just how important funding such as this is to the Public System. No-one should under-estimate how much these extra funds will improve learning outcomes for our kids.”

“In addition, 127 schools in areas of disadvantage will receive an extra $3000 on top of the $10,000 increase.”
