Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, said that now is the time during National Volunteer Week (11 May to 17 May) to recognise the great contribution that volunteers make to our community.
“This week is a great opportunity to show our support for volunteers, take time out and say thank you for all the great work that they have done and continue to do,” Carolyn Male said.
“These volunteers give their time to such causes as health care, the arts, the environment, emergency services, education, and sport.”
“National Volunteer Week is also a timely reminder that no matter how many volunteers we have, we can always use another helping hand. So if you have ever thought about volunteering this is the time to do it.”
“People can visit www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au to participate in government online consultations, as well as access information about the Queensland Government, and how to get involved in their local community through volunteering.”
