Pine Rivers residents will benefit from a $3.4 million package to provide accommodation support for Queenslanders with a disability, Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, said today.
Carolyn Male MP said the $3.4 million funding boost would mean more housing and support for local residents with a disability.
“This is great news for Pine Rivers residents, and it couldn’t have come at a better time,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“It will give people with a disability the care and support they need to live independently.”
“People with a disability have special accommodation needs and this funding will help them get the housing they need.”
Carolyn Male MP said the funding boost would deliver more housing support for those who need it most.
“Queenslanders with a disability need a helping hand, and that’s what we’re giving them,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“These extra funds will target people with special needs, providing them with access to accommodation appropriate to their circumstances.”
“This is about helping Queenslanders to live independently in their own homes.”
“It will particularly benefit ageing carers of children with a disability and those with an urgent need for accommodation support.”
Carolyn Male MP said the Bligh Government would invest $9.1 million across Queensland in 2009-10 on supported accommodation for people with a disability.
