Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, has announced that Autism Behavioural Intervention Queensland, has received $15,000 in the latest round of the Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund.
Carolyn Male MP said that the much needed funds would be going to a good cause.
“Autism Behavioural Intervention Queensland are receiving this funding to enable them to purchase toys and AV equipment for their clients,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“With interest rates on the rise, and Queenslanders still in recovery mode, these funds are vital to community-run groups, such as Autism Behavioural Intervention Queensland,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“Community groups go out of their way everyday to make a difference within their local area, and these grants are just one way of acknowledging their tireless efforts.”
The Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund uses a percentage of state revenue raised from gaming activities to offer grants of up to $150,000 to assist community organisations in the South East Queensland area.
Since its inception, in excess of 3,300 applications have been funded totalling more than $84 million.
Last year the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation introduced an online grants management system, which allows community groups and not-for-profit organisations apply for funding via its website.
“The new process is part of our efforts to reduce red-tape, and it’s been working well,” Carolyn Male MP said.
