Award Recipients with Carolyn Male MP and Attorney General and Minister for Justice the Hon Cameron Dick MP
State Member for Pine Rivers, Carolyn Male MP, joined Attorney-General Cameron Dick MP yesterday to acknowledge 975 years of combined dedicated community service by local Justices of the Peace.
Local JPs and Commissioners of Declarations attended yesterday’s afternoon tea, where they were presented with certificates of recognition for their service to the local community.
Carolyn Male MP thanked all JPs and Commissioners of Declaration in the Pine Rivers electorate, as they played a vital role in the administration of justice in Queensland.
“Often, a Justice of the Peace will volunteer their time despite the cost to themselves or to work commitments,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“It is important to remember the crucial jobs that JPs carry out for the community; work that the community of Pine Rivers greatly appreciates.”
“JPs handle between 1500 and 2000 matters throughout Queensland each day.”
“JPs provide a great service to the community, and the important work they do enables lawyers and the courts to concentrate on cases which require professional legal training.”
“This is a significant contribution which assists in the delivery of a fair, efficient and accessible justice system for Queensland,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“For those people who were unable to attend this year’s function, I am planning on holding an information session and workshop next year”.
