Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, would like the women of Pine Rivers to follow her lead and join the One Million Women campaign against climate change.

Carolyn Male MP said, “I am proud to be a member of One Million Women against climate change as I believe in early action on climate change and I believe that Queensland women can and will lead the way in tackling climate change.”

“The goal of the One Million Women campaign is to inspire one million everyday Australian women, regardless of age, beliefs, backgrounds, careers, education and financial situation to make an online commitment to each cut one tonne of CO2, in a year.”

“This campaign, which is led by not-for-profit company Climate Coolers aims to stop 1 million tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere. This is the equivalent of taking 250,000 cars off the road for 12 months which is enough pollution to fill 2.3 billion wheelie bins.”

“For my part I am not going to use my clothes dryer, I will have four minute showers and I have installed a water saving shower head and low energy lights, amongst other commitments,” Carolyn Male MP said.

“These are just small ways that I am able to do my bit for climate change in my backyard.”

The Queensland Government has been actively supporting this campaign and is proud to be a sponsor.

“This campaign is all about real women in every day situations collectively taking tangible real action on climate change and I encourage women in Pine Rivers to be involved,” Carolyn Male MP said.
