Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, is encouraging artistic young Queenslanders to take part in a statewide poster competition that could see their artwork become ‘the face’ of Youth Week 2010.

Carolyn Male MP is calling on budding artists in the region to enter the state’s first Youth Week poster competition.

The winner will receive $500 and their winning design will be featured on the State Government’s website and Youth Week posters around Queensland.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for them to showcase their talent and let their imagination run riot,” Carolyn Male MP said.

Carolyn Male MP said judges were looking for a design that captures the spirit of Youth Week’s ‘Live it Now’ theme.

The poster competition will be promoted in schools as part of Education Queensland’s ‘Year of Creativity’.

The design should display the words Youth Week 2010 and the date 10-18 April 2010. The artwork submitted should be 297mm wide and 378mm high.

Queensland residents aged 12-25 who are not employed as graphic designers are eligible to enter. Call my office on 3205 6770 for more information. Entries need to be in by 5pm 16 October 2009.

Youth Week will run from 10-18 April next year.
