Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, has encouraged local photographers to enter the Premier’s Multicultural Photographic Awards, which remain open until 2 August.
Carolyn Male MP said it wasn’t too late for Queenslanders with a flair for photography to get their entries in.
“Photographers right across Queensland have been entering this great competition, with over 500 entries received so far,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“It’s great to see Queenslanders reflecting on what a multicultural future, which is the theme of this year’s competition, means for all of us.”
“The entries submitted to date have captured the positive spirit of multiculturalism in Queensland.”
“There is still time for people to get clicking and submit a photo for the chance to win some great prizes.”
Prizes and photographic equipment are on offer for the winners and shortlisted entries in each category.
The winner of the young photographer (13-18 years) category will also have the opportunity to spend a day with Courier Mail photojournalist Derek Moore.
“Queenslanders will also get to vote for their favourite photo in the People’s Choice Award from the online gallery of short-listed entries on the awards website, after the competition closes,” Carolyn Male MP said.
