Carolyn Male MP, State Member for Pine Rivers, said that the Bligh Government has released a Discussion paper, ‘Positively Ageless: Developing a Queensland Seniors’ Strategy’, to seek the views of Queensland Seniors for a new seniors strategy and action plan.

Carolyn Male MP said that the experience and wisdom of seniors had helped shape Queensland.

“It’s partly because of their dedication and drive that we’re in such great shape today and in tough economic times their contribution is more important than ever before,” Carolyn Male MP said.

“The Bligh Government wants to see action on a statewide strategy for seniors. We want to support seniors so they can continue to enrich their own lives and the lives of everyday Queenslanders.”

“We want to hear their views and ideas on issues such as health, housing and urban design and transport.”

Carolyn Male MP said that the Discussion Paper would be open for consultation until 18 December 2009.
