Carolyn Male MP, Labor Candidate for Pine Rivers officially launched her campaign on Saturday night, with Senator Mark Furner doing the honours.

Along with Senator Furner, State Member for Aspley, Bonny Barry, Labor Candidate for Everton, Murray Watt and retiring Kurwongbah MP, Linda Lavarch were also in attendance to help get the campaign on the right track.

Carolyn Male reminded everyone in attendance that “we are facing the toughest economic times that Queensland has faced since the Great Depression. This election will be the most important that has been held for many, many decades.”

“The Labor Party has always believed that it is a Labor Government’s job to look after people who are less fortunate than ourselves. The belief that all children should be able to get a decent education and that people should be able to access suitable health care.”

Carolyn Male also reflected on the last conservative Government, headed by Rob Borbidge, of which Lawrence Springborg was a Minister.

“They presided over an unemployment rate of over 9% and said they had no ability to help people find a job.”

“This time around they are talking about axing 12,000 public servant jobs, cutting infrastructure building projects which keeps people in jobs, getting rid of the plans to build one specialist children’s hospital which the doctors say will best treat our sickest kids.”

“Queensland can not slide back to those dark days.”

“Queensland needs a Labor Government in these tough times and I need your support to make sure we deliver this,” Carolyn Male MP said.
