The Major Facilities Program, funded by the Queensland Government has progressed into the second round and Pine Rivers Memorial Bowls Club has been fortunate to make it to the next stage, Carolyn Male MP, Government Whip and Labor Candidate for Pine Rivers said.
“The Major Facilities Program funds the construction of new facilities and the improvement of existing venues which will extend the life of the asset and ensure the changing sport and recreation needs of communities are met,” Carolyn Male MP said.
“The Pine Rivers Memorial Bowls Club has moved onto the second stage in the funding process because it has proved that there is a need within the community of Pine Rivers for an expansion of their facilities. Let us hope that they make it further in the process.”
The Bowls Club was also lucky enough to have hosted a visit from the Minister for Sport, the Hon Judy Spence while she was here earlier in the month opening the new Pine Rivers Watchhouse.
“I invited the Minister to visit with the Executives of the Club to inspect the premises. The Minister seemed genuinely interested in the plans for the Club and it is hoped that she will visit the Club again in the Future,” Carolyn Male MP said.
Successful applications for the Major Facilities Program can receive funding ranging from $100,000 through to a maximum of $1.5 million for approved projects.
